# Choosing a Garage Floor Finish for How You Use the Space

Choose a garage floor direction around how the space works every day as well as how you want it to look. Parking, storage and project areas can share a room without sharing the same priorities.

## Map the Uses Before the Finishes

Sketch where vehicles, shelves, work areas and frequently moved items normally sit. Note the routes people use and the parts of the floor that stay visible. An empty garage photo can hide the everyday arrangement that matters to the decision.

Explain whether the garage will keep the same use after the project. If you are changing a workbench area or storage layout, label that change. The finish discussion should account for the intended space rather than only the current photograph.

## Decide How Prominent the Floor Should Be
