    Flooring Project Details Worth Keeping

Keep a small, organized flooring record so future care and project questions start from the right information. Save the approved scope, finish identification and instructions together rather than relying on memory.

Keep the Final Version of the Scope

Save the included areas, selected finish direction and approved changes in one location. If the project information changed during the work, identify the current version and preserve the relevant explanation.

A simple area sketch can help distinguish rooms or different finishes within the same building. It is especially useful when someone responsible for the property later changes and needs to understand which information applies where.

Store Finish and Care Information Together

Keep the finish or product identification supplied for the job with the applicable cleaning, handling and return-to-use instructions. A photograph of the completed room is useful, but it does not replace that information.

If multiple people or outside cleaners maintain the floor, make the relevant instructions available to them. Keep the original record in a place the owner can find, rather than allowing the only copy to remain in an individual employee’s messages.

    Use Photos as Context

Save a few ordinary wide photos of the completed areas and any details discussed in the final review. Label them by location. These can help explain a future question about a transition, repair area or change in appearance.

Keep later maintenance or care conversations with the same record when practical. Note the date, the issue discussed and the guidance received. This creates continuity without requiring a complicated tracking system.

    Preserve a Useful Contact Route

Record who to contact for a flooring question and what project information helps identify the job. If you reach out later, include the area, finish information and a clear description rather than assuming the person receiving the message remembers every detail.

The goal is a usable owner record. Retention requirements or contractual obligations should be addressed through the applicable agreements and appropriate advice, not inferred from a general flooring checklist.

    • Current scope and approved changes.
    • Finish identification and area labels.
    • Applicable care instructions and project photos.
    • Follow-up contact and relevant later guidance.

    Discuss Your Floor

Tell Ellett Epoxy where the project is, how the space is used and which questions you want to work through.
